Emil Nigmatullin initially worked as a legal clerk and, from February through July 2026, as an attorney on the team of Prof. Wilhelm Bergthaler and Prof. Mathis Fister in various areas of public law.
Since August 2026, Emil Nigmatullin has been pursuing an LL.M. degree at Harvard Law School in addition to his doctoral studies, for which he has received scholarships from Fulbright Austria and the Hermann and Marianne Straniak Foundation. For the duration of this program, he will continue to work at HN as Of Counsel.
Emil Nigmatullin began his academic career in 2016 by studying law at the University of Graz, from which he graduated in 2020 as one of the top students in his class. He then served as a university assistant (pre-doc) at the Institute for Public Law and Political Science there, working under Prof. Eva Schulev-Steindl, and as a project researcher at Johannes Kepler University Linz. In 2025, he passed both the bar exam and the judicial exam with honors.
In addition to his legal practice, Emil Nigmatullin is a regular academic author and lecturer in the field of public law.
