Short commentary on the Consumer Warranty Act (VGG)

With the implementation of the Digital Content Directive and the Sale of Goods Directive, the Consumer Warranty Act (VGG) was introduced in Austria and provisions of the Austrian Civil Code (ABGB) and Consumer Protection Act (KSchG) were amended.

Our expert in corporate and commercial law as well as M&A, Julia Goth, is publishing the short commentary on the Consumer Warranty Act (VGG) with contributions from four Haslinger / Nagele colleagues – Julius Ecker, Alexander Müller, Michale Haiböck, Lukas Grabmair, Patrick Bohn and Roman Büchel. This concise commentary provides an overview of the provisions of the VGG and their application. The authors, who work as Attorneys-at-Law, in the judiciary, in academia – including a former Associate from Haslinger / Nagele – and as corporate lawyers in the private sector, have contributed their experience to familiarize users with the provisions of the VGG, incorporating practical examples where necessary.
