Representing interests and protecting innovation

In February, the Haslinger / Nagele team continues its growth trajectory of recent years with a new hire and an internal promotion at its Vienna office. With Klara Fuchs (38), Haslinger / Nagele gains an accomplished Attorney-at-Law with diverse experience in the field of compliance, to further support companies in the implementation and further development of compliance measures for risk and liability minimization, as well as in the legally sound resolution of compliance violations. In addition, Reka Krasznai (39) has been promoted to Attorney-at-Law and will strengthen the public law team.
“For a commercial law firm like Haslinger / Nagele, compliance is a key area of practice as a ‘cross-sectional matter’ that bridges legal questions across various specialized disciplines. This is all the more true as the legal foundations for compliance are subject to rapid change. For instance, the new EU AML Regulation has significantly tightened the legal framework for the prevention of money laundering. We are therefore especially pleased to have gained an expert in Klara Fuchs who already has over ten years of professional experience in compliance consulting and specializes in particular in advising on anti-money laundering matters.”
Martin Stempkowski, Partner
Originally from Linz, Klara Fuchs began her career in 2012 at a Vienna-based law firm with a focus on civil law, particularly banking and capital markets law. However, she soon discovered her interest in the fields of public procurement law and compliance. This led her to a major law firm in Vienna, where her work centered on internal investigations at the intersection of public procurement law, white-collar crime law, and antitrust law. Before joining Haslinger / Nagele, Fuchs worked as a manager at one of the “Big Four” firms in the area of AML, CFT, and sanctions compliance.

„I am very much looking forward to contributing my experience in the field of compliance to Haslinger / Nagele and providing clients with practical support in navigating increasingly complex regulatory requirements.“

„Reka Krasznai possesses a rare gift: a 360-degree legal perspective. Outstanding expertise and experience as a legislative expert at the Ministry of the Environment, paired with her dedication as a lawyer and her ability to develop viable solutions in interdisciplinary teams, enable her to deliver exceptional results for our clients. In her specialized field of environmental and product law, she is among the most creative minds of her generation. We are delighted that she will continue to help shape our firm’s successful path in the service of our clients as an Attorney-at-Law.“
Wilhelm Bergthaler, Partner
Before joining Haslinger / Nagele, Reka Krasznai worked for nine years at the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Tourism, and during that time she also served at the European Commission in Brussels. Her dissertation on the concept of waste and the end-of-waste status was awarded the Austrian Environmental and Technology Law Prize in 2019. Since 2020, Reka Krasznai has been working as an Associate in public law at Haslinger / Nagele. In addition to her publications and lectures in environmental law, she also serves as a guest lecturer at Johannes Kepler University Linz.

„I am grateful to be able to continue my professional path at Haslinger / Nagele and look forward to the new challenges as an Attorney-at-Law.“
