Haslinger / Nagele gains Mathis Fister as Attorney-at-Law


With Mathis Fister (42), Haslinger / Nagele has gained one of the country’s leading experts in public economic law. As an innovative thinker and scientist, Mathis Fister enjoys an excellent reputation. As an Attorney-at-Law, he represents leading companies and interest groups in many areas.

Professional background and expertise

After studying law in Graz and Vienna, Mathis Fister worked as a university assistant and later as an assistant professor under Constitutional Court President Univ.-Prof. DDr. Dr. h.c. Christoph Grabenwarter, also serving as a constitutional law assistant at the Constitutional Court. Mathis Fister has been an Attorney-at-Law since 2015 and completed his habilitation in constitutional law and administrative law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 2019. Since 2020 he has been teaching as a university professor of public law at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. Mathis Fister is a member of the Association of German Constitutional Law Professors (VDStRL), a member of the Forum for Banking Law, a lecturer at the Theresian Military Academy, and chairman of the Working Group on Fundamental Rights and Liberties at the Austrian Bar Association (ÖRAK). His work focuses on all areas of constitutional and administrative law, particularly public economic law, administrative criminal law, and procedural law. In these areas, Mathis Fister is also known for his extensive publication, teaching, lecturing, and seminar activities.
