Symposium Constitutional Law 2019

Attempts to reform the relationship between the Federal government and the Länder have been on the political agenda for decades. The current constitutional framework was established as a compromise in 1920 and has since been considered unsatisfactorily in many aspects.

The Symposium Constitutional Law 2019, hosted by the Walter-Haslinger private trust and the former president of the Constitutional Court, SC Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gerhart Holzinger, seeks to shed light on similar reform plans in other federally organised states, previous attempts in Austria and the plans proposed by the present administration.
