A new version of the money laundering offence came into force on September 1st. Even if, according to the legislator, much is to remain the same, the amendment has the potential to tighten criminal liability in individual cases. The purchase of Bitcoins, which in the public discussion are always brought close to criminality anyway, could now be even more easily covered by the criminal offense.
