With the implementation of the Digital Content Directive and the Sale of Goods Directive, the Consumer Warranty Act (VGG) was introduced in Austria and provisions of the Austrian Civil Code (ABGB) and Consumer Protection Act (KSchG) were amended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our expert in corporate and commercial law<\/a> as well as M&A<\/a>, Julia Goth<\/a>, is publishing the short commentary on the Consumer Warranty Act (VGG) with contributions from four Haslinger \/ Nagele colleagues \u2013 Julius Ecker<\/a>, Alexander M\u00fcller<\/a>, Michale Haib\u00f6ck<\/a>, Lukas Grabmair, Patrick Bohn<\/a> and Roman B\u00fcchel<\/a>. This concise commentary provides an overview of the provisions of the VGG and their application. The authors, who work as Attorneys-at-Law, in the judiciary, in academia \u2013 including a former Associate from Haslinger \/ Nagele \u2013 and as corporate lawyers in the private sector, have contributed their experience to familiarize users with the provisions of the VGG, incorporating practical examples where necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the commentary provides an overview of the literature published to date on the VGG, allowing readers to comprehend the legal provisions in conjunction with EU law considerations and Austrian scholarly opinions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
