Compliance for medium-sized enterprises

This week, Thomas Baumgartner, certified compliance officer and Attorney-at-law at Haslinger / Nagele, dispelled the myth that compliance is only something for large corporations in the daily newspaper “Die Presse”. Since the legal requirements for companies are becoming more and more complex and violations can sometimes result in sanctions that could jeopardize their existence, all companies – regardless of their size – should deal with their compliance risks and set up appropriate compliance structures to minimize (personal) liability risks and avoid damage to their reputation.

The goal must be to create a corporate culture that sees compliance not as a hurdle but as an integral part of business processes. However, there is no patent remedy for this, rather the individual risk landscape of a company must be taken into account to find tailored compliance solutions. How this can be best achieved is explained in a five-step plan based on best practices and practical experience.

Here’s the post.
